–>TAPs: Tapping Forward to New Possibilities in Contemporary Art and Culture

–>TAPs, or Thai Alliance Project Space, is a collaborative network of Thai creative practitioners that aims to be open to and connect spaces, groups/collectives, and individuals, or even organizations who are based in Thailand. This is driven by the ideas of connecting, exchanging, sharing, and mutually supporting one another. We believe that from now on, the contemporary art and culture community can grow by revisiting, rethinking, and then collectively imagining our holistic interconnections. This is to foster the foundation of a robust artistic ecosystem that is not solely focused on the art and culture market as a mere commodity.

–>With the core principle of this grassroots-to-regional network collaboration, we introduce the concept of the three LABs—the engine that drives the TAPs network. These consist of the Practice Lab, the Critical Lab, and the Funding Lab. All experimental processes that occur within this network will be documented, published, and made publicly accessible. The goal is to allow those involved in the contemporary art and culture community to freely use, adapt, or develop these outcomes for maximum benefit.

–>TAPs หรือ Thai Alliance Project Space คือเครือข่ายความร่วมมือของคนทำงานสร้างสรรค์ไทย ที่มุ่งเปิดรับและเชื่อมโยงกันระหว่าง พื้นที่, กลุ่ม, และตัวบุคคล, หรือแม้แต่องค์กร ซึ่งอาศัยหรือลงหลักปักฐานอยู่ในประเทศไทย ด้วยแนวคิดของการเชื่อมต่อ, แลกเปลี่ยน, แบ่งปัน, และสนับสนุน ซึ่งกันและกัน เพราะเราเชื่อมั่นว่า ชุมชนของคนทำงานศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัยนับจากนี้ จะเติบโตต่อไปได้ด้วยการลับไปทบทวน ถอดบทเรียน ไปจนถึงร่วมจินตนาการถึงความเกี่ยวโยงกันเป็นองค์รวม เพื่อผลักดันให้เกิดรากฐานของระบบนิเวศศิลปะที่แข็งแรง ที่ไม่ได้มุ่งเน้นไปที่ตลาดศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมในฐานะสินค้าเพียงเท่านั้น

–>และด้วยใจความสำคัญของการร่วมมือกัน จากระดับรากหญ้าไปจนถึงภูมิภาคจนเกิดเป็นโครงข่ายหลวม ๆ นี้ขึ้น จึงนำมาสู่แนวคิดของทั้ง 3 ห้องทดลอง หรือ LABs–เครื่องยนต์ในการขับเคลื่อนเครือข่าย TAPs อันประกอบไปด้วย ห้องทดลองปฏิบัติการ (Practice Lab), ห้องทดลองวิจารณ์ (Critical Lab), และห้องทดลองทุน (Funding Lab) โดยกระบวนการทดลองทั้งหมดที่เกิดขึ้นภายในเครือข่ายนี้ จะถูกบันทึก เผยแพร่ และอนุญาตเข้าถึงได้อย่างสาธารณะ ด้วยเป้าหมายเพื่อให้ผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับกับชุมชนศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัย สามารถนำผลลัพธ์เหล่านี้ไปใช้งาน ดัดแปลง หรือพัฒนาอย่างอิสระเพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด
