–>What is TAPs?

—>TAPs, or Thai Alliance Project Space, is a collaborative network of Thai creative practitioners that aims to be open to and connect spaces, groups/collectives, and individuals, or even organizations who reside or are based in Thailand. Our goal is to foster the foundation of a resilient artistic ecosystem that is not solely focused on the art and culture market as a mere commodity.  

–>What does TAPs stand for, and what is the “Tap” philosophy?

—>TAPs stands for Thai Alliance Project Space. The “Tap” philosophy comes from our belief that sustainable change doesn’t come from forceful pushes, but from creating consistent ripples, like a gentle “tap” to encourage society and the art scene to grow and develop continuously. 

–>Who can join TAPs?

—>We are open to creative practitioners, especially those who are “spaces,” “groups,” or even “individuals” interested in contemporary art and culture who reside or are based in Thailand. We operate without gender restrictions or hierarchical divisions, aiming to build a network driven by shared responsibility. 

–>Does TAPs have a physical space?

—>TAPs is a network that operates without a single permanent location, choosing instead to collaborate with partner spaces across the country. For example, our first public program is being held at “Maielie” in Khon Kaen from October 15 to November 30, 2025. However, our vision is not limited to the Khon Kaen area. A key goal is to grow this collaborative network to a national level and connect internationally in the future. Therefore, we will use online platforms as a central hub for communication, exchange, and building collaborations with artists and creative professionals from across the country and abroad.  

—>What activities does TAPs plan to do?

—>Our activities are centered around three types of “LABs”: a Practice Lab, a Critical Lab, and a Fundind Lab, to support growth in different yet interconnected dimensions. We expect the network to meet and discuss freely on a regular basis and to have at least one collaborative project per year under the network’s name.  

–>How is TAPs different from other art collectives?

—>TAPs’ distinctiveness is that: 1) It is a network formed by diverse allies, not just artists. 2) It has a clear operational structure through the concept of three “Labs” (Practice, Critical, and Funding) that cover a comprehensive process from creation and critique to sustainability. 3) It has a clear goal of building a resilient ecosystem beyond conventional art market mechanisms. 4) And importantly, it has an Open-Source policy of documenting and publishing its processes for others to build upon.

–>How can I join or support TAPs?

—>You can be a part of building our network by providing your information in the form at this link. All information will be used as a central database for TAPs, helping us to see the bigger picture of our network and to consider extending invitations for suitable activities in the future.

–>What does “Thai” in the name TAPs mean?

—>The word “Thai” here does not refer to the traditional nation-state but has a broader meaning that includes everyone, every space, or every group that exists within the geographical boundaries of Thailand. It is a definition that challenges centralized power and aims for a more open and diverse vision.

—>TAPs หรือ Thai Alliance Project Space คือเครือข่ายความร่วมมือของคนทำงานสร้างสรรค์ไทย ที่มุ่งเปิดรับและเชื่อมโยงกันระหว่างพื้นที่, กลุ่ม, และตัวบุคคลซึ่งอาศัยหรือลงหลักปักฐานอยู่ในประเทศไทย เป้าหมายของเราคือการสร้างรากฐานของระบบนิเวศศิลปะที่ยืดหยุ่น และไม่ได้มุ่งเน้นไปที่ตลาดศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมในฐานะสินค้าเพียงอย่างเดียว

–>TAPs ย่อมาจากอะไร และปรัชญา “Tap” คืออะไร?

—>TAPs ย่อมาจาก Thai Alliance Project Space ส่วนปรัชญา “Tap” (แตะ) มาจากการที่เราเชื่อว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ยั่งยืนไม่จำเป็นต้องมาจากการผลักดันที่รุนแรง แต่เกิดจากการสร้างแรงกระเพื่อมอย่างสม่ำเสมอ เหมือนการ “แตะ” เบาๆ เพื่อกระตุ้นให้สังคมและวงการศิลปะเติบโตไปข้างหน้าอย่างต่อเนื่อง

–>ใครสามารถเข้าร่วม TAPs ได้บ้าง?

—>เราเปิดรับคนทำงานสร้างสรรค์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งที่เป็น “พื้นที่”, “กลุ่ม”, หรือแม้แต่ “บุคคล” ที่มีความสนใจในศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัยซึ่งอาศัยหรือมีฐานปฏิบัติการอยู่ในประเทศไทย โดยไม่จำกัดเพศ และไม่มีการแบ่งแยกชนชั้นในการทำงาน เรามุ่งสร้างเครือข่ายที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วยความรับผิดชอบร่วมกัน

–>TAPs มีพื้นที่ทางกายภาพหรือไม่ ตั้งอยู่ที่ไหน?

—>TAPs เป็นเครือข่ายที่ทำงานโดยไม่มีที่ตั้งถาวรเพียงแห่งเดียว แต่จะทำงานร่วมกับพื้นที่พันธมิตรต่าง ๆ ทั่วประเทศ ตัวอย่างเช่น โปรแกรมกิจกรรมสาธารณะครั้งแรกของเราจัดขึ้นที่ “Maielie” ในจังหวัดขอนแก่น ตั้งแต่วันที่ 15 ตุลาคม – 30 พฤศจิกายน 2568 อย่างไรก็ตาม วิสัยทัศน์ของเราไม่ได้จำกัดอยู่แค่ในพื้นที่ใดพื้นที่หนึ่งเท่านั้น เป้าหมายสำคัญคือการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือให้เติบโตในระดับประเทศ และเชื่อมโยงไปสู่ระดับสากลในอนาคต ดังนั้น เราจะใช้พื้นที่ออนไลน์เป็นศูนย์กลางในการสื่อสาร แลกเปลี่ยน และสร้างความร่วมมือกับศิลปินและกลุ่มคนทำงานสร้างสรรค์จากทั่วประเทศและต่างประเทศ

–>TAPs มีแผนจะทำกิจกรรมอะไรบ้าง?

—>กิจกรรมของเรามีศูนย์กลางอยู่ที่ “ห้องทดลอง” (LABs) 3 รูปแบบ คือ ห้องทดลองปฏิบัติการ (Practice Lab), ห้องทดลองวิจารณ์ (Critical Lab), และ ห้องทดลองทุน (Funding Lab) เพื่อสนับสนุนการเติบโตในมิติต่าง ๆ ที่แตกต่างกันไปแต่ก็สอดคล้องกัน เราคาดหวังว่า เครือข่ายสามารถพบปะพูดคุยกันเป็นประจำได้อย่างอิสระ และมีโครงการที่ทำร่วมกันในนามเครือข่ายอย่างน้อยปีละ 1 ครั้ง

–>TAPs แตกต่างจากกลุ่มศิลปะอื่นอย่างไร?

—>ความโดดเด่นของ TAPs คือ 1) อยู่ที่การเป็นเครือข่ายซึ่งเกิดจากพันธมิตรที่หลากหลาย ไม่ใช่แค่ศิลปิ 2) มีโครงสร้างการทำงานที่ชัดเจนผ่านแนวคิด “ห้องทดลอง” (LABs) 3 รูปแบบที่ครอบคลุมตั้งแต่การลงมือทำ การวิจารณ์ ไปจนถึงการสร้างความยั่งยืน 3) มีเป้าหมายที่แน่วแน่ในการสร้างระบบนิเวศที่ยืดหยุ่นนอกเหนือจากกลไกตลาดศิลปะแบบปกติ 4) และที่สำคัญคือมีนโยบายแบบเปิด (Open-Source) ที่จะบันทึกและเผยแพร่กระบวนการทำงานสู่สาธารณะเพื่อให้คนอื่นนำไปต่อยอดได้

–>จะเข้าร่วมหรือสนับสนุน TAPs ได้อย่างไร?

—>คุณสามารถแสดงเจตจำนงเพื่อเข้าร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการสร้างเครือข่ายได้โดยการกรอกข้อมูลของท่านในแบบฟอร์มนี้ ข้อมูลทั้งหมดจะถูกนำไปใช้เป็นฐานข้อมูลกลางของ TAPs เพื่อให้เราเห็นภาพรวมและใช้ในการพิจารณาเชิญชวนเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมที่เหมาะสมต่อไป

–>คำว่า “ไทย” ในชื่อ TAPs มีความหมายว่าอย่างไร?

—>คำว่า “ไทย” ในที่นี้ไม่ได้หมายถึงความเป็นรัฐชาติแบบดั้งเดิม แต่มีความหมายที่ครอบคลุมถึงทุกคน ทุกพื้นที่ หรือทุกกลุ่ม ที่จงใจหรือบังเอิญอยู่ภายใต้ขอบเขตทางภูมิศาสตร์ของประเทศไทย เป็นการนิยามที่ท้าทายศูนย์กลางอำนาจและมุ่งสู่วิสัยทัศน์ที่เปิดกว้างและหลากหลายมากขึ้น
